One of the biggest games of the WNBA regular season is upon us. On Friday night, the Chicago Sky host the Indiana Fever in a highly-anticipated contest that will be highlighted by the individual matchup between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.

These two rookie superstars will face off for a fourth and potentially last time this year, with the Fever holding a 2-1 season series advantage. This time around, however, the stakes are much higher, with both sides vying for positioning in the WNBA playoff picture.

The fans have been eagerly anticipating this matchup for months now. The last time these two teams crossed paths was on June 23 when Reese and Co. took down Indiana, 88-87, in Chicago in an absolute nail-biter.

9,872 fans attended that game, but with the demand rising from their last meeting, it's very much possible that the Wintrust Arena is preparing for an even bigger crowd. It's also no surprise that the cost to watch this game live has skyrocketed.

According to a report by Eli Ong of WGN9 in Chicago, ticket prices have gone up to as high as $2,825 a pop .

For context, the lowest ticket price currently available for the Sky-Fever game costs $141 , per vividseats. The cheapest tickets for Chicago's home game against the Washington Mystics on Wednesday cost just $21.

This shocking anomaly, which you can credit to Clark and Reese, has more than a few fans scratching their heads.

"That sounz too high. Or is somebody at 'GN too high?" said a fan.

    "Doubt it," reacted a reader.

"Jesus Christ lol" said a comment.

"To see a basketball game?" asked a supporter.

As mentioned previously, depending on how things play out, this could be the last time Clark and Reese face off on the basketball court as rookies. This could explain why the promoters are doing what they can to squeeze out every bit of potential profit from this much-awaited showdown.

Clark's Fever are currently sitting on a 14-16 record for seventh in the league. The Sky (11-18), on the other hand, are 3.5 games behind Indiana at eighth. Only eight teams qualify for the playoffs in the WNBA.
