'College GameDay' Announces Week 1 Celebrity Picker For Notre Dame vs. Texas AM

Week 1 of the college football season is finally here. 12 different Power Four teams will kick off their seasons on Thursday, with the rest opening throughout the weekend through Monday.

One of the most anticipated games this weekend is the matchup between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station, Tex. ESPN's "College GameDay" will be at the top-20 showdown, and they've revealed the celebrity guest picker for the event.

Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel will be the guest picker. In a video posted on "College GameDay's" X account, Manziel expressed his excitement about the opportunity and hopes that the fans will be ready to bring energy and excitement on Saturday.

"I'm very excited to announce that I will be the celebrity guest picker on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. ET," Manziel said. "Aggieland, we need you guys loud and crazy as we have Notre Dame coming to town. (I'm) really looking forward to checking something off the bucket list this week. Can't wait, Gig 'em."

Manziel was a college football sensation and one of the best quarterbacks ever. His historic freshman season in 2012 led the Aggies to their best season in the SEC and ended with him being named the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy.

Texas A&M will play against Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 31 on ABC. "College GameDay" will be aired from 9 a.m.-noon ET. You can see Manziel on the show's final segment, making his picks in front of what he hopes will be a raucous crowd.
