Week 1 of the college football season is almost over, and fans have enjoyed watching their favorite teams back in action while getting to know some new faces in the sport.

One of the standout performers was Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who completed 22-of-28 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns in his season debut. The Volunteers secured a resounding 69-3 victory over Chattanooga.

Iamaleava's performance caught the eye of former ESPN "College GameDay" analyst David Pollack. Pollack tweeted that he had seen a lot of hyped quarterbacks make great debuts, but he had not seen one better than Iamaleava's, calling him a future superstar.

"I have seen a lot of hyped quarterbacks make great debuts," Pollack said . "I haven't seen one better than Nico Iamaleava for Tennessee. I just finished the tape, and goodness gracious, was it good!! I know it's Chattanooga, but the kid is going to be a flat-out superstar."

The former five-star quarterback was ranked as the No. 1 overall player by On3 coming out of high school. He played in just five games last season and made one start, which was the bowl game. In that game, he showcased his brilliance by completing 12-of-19 passes for 151 yards and one touchdown. Additionally, he ran for three touchdowns.

If he continues to improve each week, Pollack believes Tennessee could have the next college football superstar.
