ESPN's College Gameday will be traveling to Ann Arbor in Week 2 for one of the biggest games of the 2024 season.

No. 4 Texas will face off against No. 9 Michigan at 11 a.m. CT on Sept. 7. The top-10 showdown will be the first true test for both teams and one that could have College Football Playoff implications down the line.

Although the Wolverines are the reigning national champions, the Longhorns are the 6.5-point favorite entering the contest. On3 Sports' Andy Staples and Ari Wasserman discussed the anticipated matchup and whether Texas has the talent to cover the spread on the road in a tough environment.

"I do think that Texas is going to win this game by a touchdown," Wasserman said. Staples had a slightly different tune on the matchup. "I'm going to take Michigan to cover," Staples said. "I don't know if they're going to win this game, but I think that the atmosphere and the fact that this is their first big home game after the national title game, this is what everybody is waiting for, they're going to come out fired up."

Texas is coming off a dominating Week 1 win over Colorado State, 52-0. Michigan defeated Fresno State by 20 points to open the season. A win over a top-10 opponent on the road could provide significant motivation and confidence for Texas entering its first season of SEC play .
