Five-star EDGE prospect Jared Smith announced his commitment to the Auburn Tigers on Saturday. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound EDGE committed to the Tigers over the South Carolina Gamecocks, Georgia Bulldogs, and Ole Miss Rebels.

Smith, a native of Alabaster, AL, enters his senior season at Thompson High School (AL) after transferring from Spain Park High School midway through his junior season.

Smith is the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 2 EDGE in the class of 2025. He also ranks as the No. 1 edge rusher and No. 2 prospect in Alabama, according to 247Sports .

Following Smith's commitment, Auburn's 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 5 nationally and No. 4 within the SEC. The addition of Smith gives Auburn its second five-star commit of the 2025 class and brings the total commitment count to 22.

Smith will join a Tigers recruiting class that includes fellow five-star defensive lineman Malik Autry, four-star EDGE Jakaleb Faulk, and safety Eric Winters.

The Tigers have built plenty of momentum after their highly-anticipated Big Cat Weekend. Smith is the fifth commitment for the Tigers since last weekend, which included four-star Derick Smith and four-star Antonio Coleman flipping their commitment from Alabama.

Smith has excellent size and reach for an edge rusher, which will certainly be advantageous for the Tigers as the program continues to compete with the elite programs that litter the SEC.
