A semi truck fire closed the right lanes of northbound E-470 in Aurora around 5 a.m., Monday.

Firefighters from the Aurora Fire Rescue and Sable Altura Fire Rescue responded to the truck fire shortly after 5 a.m., near East 26th Avenue and E-470, according to Aurora Fire.

Due to smoke and the fire, E-470 was closed for approximately 30 minutes, Aurora Fire said.

"The truck was carrying a load of acai berries, and the cause of the fire is unknown," Aurora Fire Rescue said in a post on X. "Crews prevented the fire from reaching the E470 bridge."

The fire was contained using a water tanker that drops water into a set-up water tank, then the fire trucks draft the water out of the tank, supplying fire hose lines.

No injuries were reported from the fire and the highway has since reopened.
