Autism Friendly Austin and LIFE Mower County have partnered to bring families a new music therapy program with the help of MacPhail Center for Music in Austin.

Little Learners Music will be held at MacPhail in Austin one night each month. This is a caregiver and child group class for kids with different abilities, ages 2-7. The classes are taught by Emma Evans-Peck, who is a board-certified music therapist.

With this new offering, Autism Friendly Austin is expanding to serve a new, younger age group and their families. The first Little Learners session was held on Feb 26.

“The first class went incredibly well,” said Beth Tobak, the Community Autism Resource Specialist at the Hormel Historic Home. “These sessions allow caregivers to connect, while also offering social and learning opportunities for their kids.”

Registration for Little Learners Music is open through July. To register go to: www.hormelhistorichome.org/autism-programming.html
