Texas A&M Insider Bluntly Addresses Jim Schlossnagle 'Betrayal' in Exit to Texas Longhorns

Jim Schlossnagle is leaving the Texas A&M Aggies to coach the Texas Longhorns next season. The news came on the heels of the Texas A&M's Game 3 loss in the College World Series final.

Some pointed to the potential move of Schlossnagle to Texas prior to the conclusion of the college baseball season. Still, many are in disbelief.

TexAgs recruiting and baseball analyst Ryan Brauninger voiced how he feels about the final days of the Schlossnagle era at Texas A&M.

"Yeah, I had a working relationship with him. We texted a lot, called, he asked me to do him favors, whether it be reporting on the team or helping out reporting information about game times and getting to the ballpark early, all this stuff. ... I was helping a guy that was conning me."

Some view those details as part of Brauninger's job description, but the insider still feels deceived by Schlossnagle. Brauninger then went on to discuss his ties to the rest of the Aggies baseball staff.

"I had personal relationships with guys on that staff. I really did. A couple of them were at my wedding. And I feel betrayed, because I feel like I was looked in my face and lied to, I was talked to over the phone and lied to, there were deceitful charades put up, as if nothing was going on behind the scenes."

Few know all the specifics of was discussed between Schlossnagle and Texas A&M insiders, but Brauninger certainly feels much of what was said in the final days wasn't forthcoming.

The anticipated first matchup between the two teams in the expanded Southeastern Conference is set to take place next season.
