A man is accused of fatally shooting his wife at a Scottsdale residence Saturday evening, authorities say.

Sgt. Allison Sempsis, a department spokesperson, said officers responded to a home on North 128th Way around 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Responding officers found a woman with a gunshot wound and had her taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police identified the suspect shooter as 47-year-old David Zhu.

Sempsis said officers arrested Zhu on suspicion of shooting his wife but didn't say what may have prompted the shooting. Sempsis noted another woman and a minor were also inside the woman when the shooting occurred.

Zhu was arrested and booked Sunday into a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of one count of homicide, according to online jail records.

"While this is still an ongoing investigation, there is no threat to the surrounding community, as this is an isolated incident," Sempsis said.
