Top tier four star cornerback recruit down to LSU and Miami heading into his commitment announcement

Real college football games are just around the corner. The video game is finally back. 2025 recruiting classes are starting to truly take shape. There's so much going on in the world of college football right now, but there are still several top tier recruits who have commitment announcements coming in the next few weeks that could change the future landscape of the game!

One of the most important upcoming commitment announcements will be from two-way four star cornerback Jaboree Antoine. He's racked up nearly 25 FBS offers, but he's finally narrowed things down to just two programs and will announce his future home this Saturday! What makes him so special and where will he actually commit? Let's dive in.

Jaboree Antoine, 4 Star Cornerback

It's rare to see a special cornerback talent also start at quarterback for his high school team, but that's exactly what Jaboree Antoine has done. As a sophomore he started on both sides of the ball racking up incredible passes defended stats (with five interceptions) and unreal dual threat quarterbacks numbers as the team's leader on offense.

Antoine is explosive, instinctual, and can match any wide receiver step for step even if his technique slips up getting him out of place initially (which is rare). He's already a Top 100 overall recruit according to the 247Sports Composite, but if he had stayed healthy for all of last year instead of struggling with a collar bone injury Antoine would possibly be a five star recruit. His track-speed, athleticism, and versatility make him one of the most highly coveted remaining defenders on any team's board in the nation.

Jaboree Antoine Likely Landing Spots

Where will he actually go to school?

Jaboree Antoine actually decommitted from LSU earlier this summer, leading many to believe that he would choose Florida State or Miami given his long-time interest in both programs. However, according to multiple sources Antoine has now narrowed his recruitment down to the LSU Tigers and Miami Hurricanes.

Brian Kelly and LSU have been building a special recruiting class this off-season, launching themselves into top five overall consideration among the 2025 team class rankings. They just added five star defensive back DJ Pickett this week after already having double-digit blue chips committed for next spring. Jaboree Antoine's potential signing would thrust them into potential top overall class status.

LSU has long been known as one of the few schools in the mix for the "DB U" title, having sent several talented defensive backs to the NFL. This signing could get them back to that level again. Brian Kelly and his revamped defensive staff have been stacking the trenches this off-season, but have an easy strong pitch for Jaboree Antoine. The program's track record and his likely early playing time should be quite intriguing.

Miami, on the other hand, already has three cornerbacks committed in next year's class (two high four stars included). While Antoine likely doesn't fear competition, there's certainly much more of it in next year's class with the Hurricanes so far. When you mix that with the fact that Miami has been nothing but mediocre for the majority of Antoine's life, aren't the in-state school for him (LSU is), and his former commitment to LSU, he certainly looks like a future Tiger.
