Schedule, tickets and drivers to watch for the 3 World of Outlaws races in southeast Wisconsin this week

If there was an upside to the rainout last month at Beaver Dam Raceway, it’s that World of Outlaws fans in southeast Wisconsin get three opportunities to see the sprint cars race on area tracks this week.

Wilmot Raceway already was scheduled for a doubleheader weekend.

Then the makeup date for the second half of the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial doubleheader at Beaver Dam Raceway was set for Wednesday, between a weekend at Cedar Lake in New Richmond and the Wilmot events.

Here’s what you need to know about a week with three $12,000-to-win events a short drive from Milwaukee.

Where is Beaver Dam Raceway?

The third-mile Beaver Dam Raceway is at N7086 Raceway Road, just east of Beaver Dam off Highway 33.

Where is Wilmot Raceway?

The three-eighths-mile Wilmot Raceway is located on the grounds of the Kenosha County Fairgrounds, off County Highway W in Wilmot.

Who are World of Outlaws drivers to watch at Beaver Dam and Wilmot?

Sheldon Haudenschild has won five of the series’ last six races at Beaver Dam, including the most recent, and holds the track record of 11.025 seconds set in 2022. He has been to victory lane seven times this season, second-most, but is a distant seventh in the standings.

David Gravel, a four-time Wilmot winner, leads the series with nine victories in 31 features this season and ranks eighth on the all-time win list with 97 but is still chasing a first Outlaws championship.

Carson Macedo has won two of the past three features at Wilmot and ran second to Haudenschild at Beaver Dam in June. He is third in points.

Donny Schatz is enjoying a resurgence. The 10-time champion is second in points, behind Gravel, with two victories. Schatz is a two-time winner at Beaver Dam (2002 and ’15) and won at Wilmot in 2019.

Bill Balog, an Alaska native who settled in Hartland, is racing his first full season on the national circuit. Balog is eighth in points with six top-five finishes. He pulled off a major upset in 2016 when he won the Outlaws race at Beaver Dam, and he has won 23 sprint car features at Wilmot, most recently with the IRA last August.

Gio Scelzi won the feature on the first night at Beaver Dam last season and was fourth in June. He’s fourth in points with two victories this year and a series high 28 top-10 finishes.
