Hurt Makes Court Appearance, Further Action Scheduled
MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — The Madison teen accused of beating a correction officer at the Lincoln Hills Youth Prison will appear in court this afternoon. Javarius Hurd waived his right to a preliminary hearing and a speedy trial during Friday’s appearance but did not enter a plea. The 16-year-old is accused of assaulting a female correction officer after he returned from outdoor recreation time. He then walked away but was chased down by a male correction officer, Corey Proulx.

Report: Wisconsin elevating top analyst to assistant coordinator role
The Wisconsin Badgers are promoting top special teams analyst Eric Raisbeck to assistant special teams coordinator, according to a report from FootballScoop’s Doug Samuels. Madison to build permanent men’s shelter on Far East Side
The Madison CommonCouncil approved four new housing developments at a July 2 meeting, one of which will be the city’s first permanent men's shelter at 1904 Bartillon Drive. The new permanent shelter is set to hold 250-300 men in total, Madison Community Development Director Jim O’Keefe told The Daily Cardinal. It will be the first permanent men’s shelter in Madison, with a previous temporary all men’s shelter operating out of the basement of Grace Episcopal Church.
