Driving classes teaching teens to be safe as they hit the road this summer
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - With children out of school, there is a spike in car fatalities involving young drivers between Memorial Day and Labor Day, according to experts. “This is the time of the year where we see an increased volume of drivers on the roadways, like from 16 to 19 years old,” said Alabama State Trooper Reginal King.
AAA forecasts nearly 71 million to hit the road for July 4th, expect peak delays
According to AAA almost 71 million people are expected to travel more than 50 miles surrounding the 4th of July holiday. Almost all of those travelers will be driving. If you are driving for the holiday, AAA reminds travelers peak travel time every day this holiday is expected to be 2:00-7:00 p.m. every day, however the busiest travel day before the holiday is expected to be the 3rd of July.
