    Bridgeport police officer faces stalking charges after arrest

    BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A Bridgeport police officer on administrative leave with pay since May 8 turned himself in on Wednesday and is facing numerous charges.

    According to a release, Dani Soto, 47, of Bridgeport, has been a Bridgeport police officer since 2017 and was placed on leave a day before the Bridgeport Police Department Detective Bureau opened an investigation into domestic violence allegations.

    The investigation led to an arrest warrant being signed by a judge on July 1.

    Soto has been charged with second-degree stalking, five counts of fear of physical safety, four counts of second-degree unlawful restraint and 22 counts of second-degree harassment.

    His bond was set at $75,000.
