    Pedestrian identified in fatal Brooklyn Park crash

    The pedestrian struck and killed by a passing car July 7 in Brooklyn Park has been identified.

    Cuc Thi Tran, of Chatsworth, California, died of multiple blunt force injuries associated with the crash, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced July 9. Tran was 78.

    According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officers responded to a call near the intersection of West Broadway and Candlewood Drive just after 6 p.m. July 7. Also called to the scene were Brooklyn Park Fire and North Ambulance.

    Police say responders located Tran, who was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

    The driver of the vehicle reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

    The incident remains under investigation by the Brooklyn Park Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
