Ed Pratt: Special moments remembered as the decades pass
On June 27, I reached 70 years old. I find joy in that milestone because I’m still here, especially when it is attached to the occasional comment: “Man, you don’t look 70 at all.”. My original plan for this column was to write about good and bad...
More about caterpillars in the garden: Treatment isn't usually necessary
Garden columnist Dan Gill answers readers' questions each week. To send a question, email Gill at dgill@agcenter.lsu.edu. I've appreciated and benefited from your gardening advice on many occasions through the years. I was deeply concerned, however, by your recent article on what to do about caterpillars in the garden. I was surprised and disappointed not to see a clear statement of their value. And a clear caution or at least limitation on what one should do against them. — Christina.

Most of us knew Kinny Haddox as Kinny and never bothered to find out why our friend had such an unusual spelling of his Christian name. Make no mistake, Kinny Haddox was a Christian man, but virtually nobody, save his family, knew him to be William Kinnison Haddox, born July 30, 1952 in Columbia in north Louisiana.
