Boil advisory issued for portions of South Walnut and East Rensselaer streets

Due to a watermain break or depressurization, the City of Bucyrus issued a boil water advisory for residents of South Walnut Street from East Mansfield to East Warren streets and residents of East Rensselaer Street from South Walnut to South Sandusky Avenue.

Residents should boil water for at least one minute or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills any possible contaminants in the water.

The water department has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated, but is issuing the advisory as a precaution.
