In an exhilarating display of speed and strategy at Buttonwillow Raceway, 944 Spec drivers showcased their prowess during the weekend’s events. On Saturday, two-time National Champion Marcelo Vine led the 944 Spec class with precision, clocking a fast lap of 2:06.433 in his black and yellow Porsche 944 sponsored by Pro Low Voltage Inc and Security Specialists. Another multitime National Champion, Charles Buzzetti, followed closely with a time of 2:06.373, 5.883 seconds adrift. Kevin Fry secured third, 25.056 seconds behind Vine, recording a best lap of 2:07.392.
Matthew Ibrahim and Marcelo Calcagnotto Take One Apiece in Spec E30 at Buttonwillow
The NASA SoCal June weekend of racing at Buttonwillow saw intense competition in Spec E30, with drivers battling for podium finishes. On Saturday, Matthew Ibrahim clinched first place in a red BMW 325i sponsored by Garagistic, setting a fastest lap time of 2:07.949. Close behind was Team Mick Blue Racing in the familiar black and neon yellow BMW 325i finishing just 0.978 seconds behind the leader. Sean Aron rounded out the top three, trailing first place by 1.176 seconds in a blue BMW 325is.

Buena Vista Golf Course loses equipment in blaze
TAFT, Calif. --- (KBAK/FOX58) A late-June fire at Buena Vista Golf Course torched equipment needed by its operator to keep the course maintained. Chad Sorensen operates Buena Vista Golf Course. While Sorensen does not own the land, he owns everything else. That includes the thousands of dollars worth of equipment that literally went up in flames. The course employees are all on his payroll, too.
