Foothill's Shantiana Alvarez commits to TC
– After receiving commitments from three other girls’ basketball standouts in Kern County, Taft College gets another one from Frontier High School. Shantiana Alvarez is a 5’2” guard who recently declared her commitment to play basketball at Taft College for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. Alvarez was a 3-year varsity player who played 73 games with a total of 173 points, 150 rebounds, 64 assists, and 100 steals. Throughout her career, she was awarded player of the game during the regular season and a playoff game. She also was awarded the team’s academic excellence award for having the team’s highest grade point average.
