Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education
Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education. has received new funding from the United States Department of Health and Human Services in support of the West Virginia Health Start/Helping Appalachian Parents and Infants (HAPI) program. The initiative offers support to local health organizations in communities with high rates of infant mortality and negative maternal health outcomes. Over the next five years, HAPI will receive $1.1 million annually to support operations in existing participating communities, as well as expand operations to four new West Virginia counties.

Battle received an invitation to summer league from the Hornets following the NBA draft. Battle is now fighting for a two-way contract. His California Classic debut for the Hornets was his best performance throughout the summer. Battle recorded an efficient 12 points on six shots in 14 minutes.

Back then, football preparation was taking a backseat to the pending basketball coaching search. This time around, fall camp will be in the spotlight of the WVU sports world. Today we continue the position-by-position preview for preseason camp. The Mountaineers went 9-4 last season, including beating up on UNC in a bowl game that ended with Neal Brown being covered in mayonnaise. West Virginia football enters the 2024 season with significant wind in its sails, so fall camp should be particularly interesting to watch next month.
