Athletics select Wake Forest star Nick Kurtz 4th overall

On Tuesday, Texas A&M shortstop Ali Camarillo was selected in the 12th round, 346th overall, by the Oakland Athletics in the 2024 MLB Draft. Of the six A&M products picked in this year’s draft so far, Camarillo becomes the third Aggie position player to come off the board, joining outfielder Braden Montgomery and Jackson Appel.
Wenliang Xie Joins Golden Bears
BERKELEY – Wenliang Xie, a two-time All-Big East Conference selection, has signed to play for the California men's golf program. Xie, a Burbank native, spent the previous five seasons at Seton Hall and joins the Golden Bears as a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining in 2024-25. Xie has played in more than 40 tournaments since the start of his collegiate career in 2019-20 and owns a 72.82 career stroke average. He has 15 career top-10 finishes and eight top-five finishes, including a win at the 2019 Hartford Hawks Invitational, just his second collegiate tournament played. Xie was at his best for the Pirates last season as he averaged career-low 71.81 strokes per round across 12 tournaments, posted four top-five finishes and had 15 sub-par rounds on the way to earning All-Big East First-Team and Big East Championship All-Tournament Team honors.

Sporting Kansas City II (6-7-4, 24 points) suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of The Town FC (6-5-5, 25 points) on Sunday evening at Saint Mary's Stadium in Moraga, California.
