Waymo’s Driverless Cars Deploying on SF Freeways
Prepare to see more driverless cars in San Francisco. Waymo is taking its fleet to freeways this week, starting with employees. The company says this will get passengers to where they need to go faster than using city streets. For instance, it could take half the time for a trip from the Lake Merced neighborhood to Oracle Park. Waymo expanded its ride hailing service to Daly City, Colma and Broadmoor last week.

Informational briefing on draft updates to the Commission’s Sea Level Rise Policy Guidance, which is available for public review and comment. The draft updates reflect: 1) evolving best available science; 2) integration of environmental justice principles and planning considerations; and 3) guidelines regarding updating Local Coastal Programs consistent with SB 272. This presentation will focus on updates related to science and SB 272 guidelines. A second informational briefing at a future Commission meeting will focus on the environmental justice updates.
