When Morton Community Bank acquired and renamed Marine Bank in Champaign in June 2023, company officials made sure Old Glory continued to fly in tiptop shape at the high-traffic location.

“There was never any discussion about not displaying an American Flag (here),” Clock Tower Community Bank’s Stacy Betts said.

Clock Tower is June’s recipient of Champaign American Legion Post 24’s monthly award for proper display of the American Flag. The plaque, Betts said, is in the lobby for all to see.

It’s the second time the location at 1001 South Neil St. has been recognized by Post 24 (Marine Bank in October 2017).
