BARABOO, Wis. — One Baraboo Police Department officer has resigned, while two others were found to not have committed any criminal wrongdoing, according to a press release from Baraboo Police Department about an internal administrative investigation involving cocaine distribution.

The investigation stems from the arrest of William Deppe. William Deppe, 37, faces 24 charges including maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession with intent to deliver cocaine and 11 felony counts of possessing a firearm silencer.

Deppe was arrested on Aug. 13 as part of a joint investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Derek Burch resigned from the department prior to the investigation being completed. The investigation of officers Mike Pichler and Nick Burch revealed no criminal law violations of the part of either, according to the release. All three were named in Deppe's cash bond conditions as people he is not allowed to contact.

The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation is continuing its own investigation.
