NFL insider gives a solid reason why Bryce Young is only going to get better in 2024

One NFL insider believes Bryce Young will get better in the 2024 season for one reason – not as many voices in his ear.

During Young's rookie season, the Carolina Panthers assembled an "all-star" coaching staff, which led to Frank Reich and several other assistant coaches telling Young what to do. That isn't the case under Dave Canales, and Cam Wolfe with NFL Network thinks that is all Young needs to rediscover himself as a quarterback.

"Everything is so much clearer now," Wolfe said. "There's been a lot of positive reviews about how Bryce is getting one voice – not as many cooks in the kitchen."

Young's leadership will take center stage moving forward. Canales recently admitted that the second-year quarterback leads by example rather than voice.

"Bryce is very much comfortable with being a leader," Canales told CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones , "but he also understands that there's a level of respect gained by working and performing to the highest of your standards. He was not satisfied with his performance last year. He knows he's got work to do. So he's not going to try to take this vocal role because that's not what he does.

"But he will call the offense up after different practices and just capture moments where we look good, where we are moving. Or if there was a day where it was like clunky and we're not lining up properly, he has no problem saying, 'Guys, our standard is higher than this.' And it's a very clear message. I think he's very tactful in finding those little situations, and I can tell he's really comfortable with that role, really."

And with a steady, uniform voice, Young will be able to find himself as a true NFL quarterback.

With the bar as low as it is for Young – who threw 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions during his rookie season – having a uniformed voice for the Alabama product is what matters most.
