Dwyane Wade's Message To Angel Reese After Making WNBA History

The WNBA's popularity has skyrocketed over the past few years, and Dwyane Wade has been at the forefront of it.

The former NBA champion and Hall of Fame basketball player with the Miami Heat is also a minority stakeholder of the Chicago Sky. He's back in his hometown, helping build the Sky into a championship-winning franchise.

While he wasn't at the Sky's 83-72 victory over the Dallas Wings on Thursday, he made sure to acknowledge Angel Reese's historic game on social media.

D-Wade responded to a post on the team's official X account with the applause emoji, giving credit to the rookie's achievement. He also reposted her stats on Instagram, clearly showing love for his team and one of their best players.

Reese raked in 16 points and 18 rebounds against the Wings on Thursday, becoming the first WNBA rookie in league history to record seven straight double-doubles. With the win, the Sky are now 5-9 on the season, breaking their four-game losing streak.

Reese and Wade have been known to carry a tight bond. He's been in attendance for some Sky games this season, and there's a video of Wade embracing Reese with a postgame hug in a prior contest.
