Former Chicago Bears free agents who are still looking to find a new home leading up to training camp

With training camp about to ramp up around the league later this month, teams will soon be revisiting the free agent market to round out some positional battles on the roster before cutting down the list.

There are still plenty of high-talent up for grabs and lesser known players who could find a new home before training camps start to kick off around the country.

The Chicago Bears have four former players in particular who are still capable of contributing to another team this season that won't be returning back at this point. Here are those four players and some potential landing spots around the league.

    S Eddie Jackson

Experienced veteran safeties are easy to come by on the free agent market with former top players such as Justin Simmons, Jamal Adams, and Quandre Diggs still waiting around for their phones to ring.

Former Bears starter Eddie Jackson is likely buried down that list of names based on his 2023 performance, but there's still a handful of teams who could call upon his services during the 2024 season.

The New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings could still use some experienced talent heading into camp and Jackson's former connections with Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio could lead to a potential reunion . It's only a matter of time until the overall dry safety market starts to heat up once again.

Potential Suitors: New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles

    DE Yannick Ngakoue

I've been saying all offseason that Yannick Ngakoue will be the ideal playoff mercenary for a team looking to add a productive pass rusher during the middle of the season. However, he could be fully healed from his broken ankle earlier than that.

"Honestly, I haven't really been thinking about an offer or details in specific at all," Ngakoue said about his market in May . "The only thing I've been thinking about is taking that grass again and re-establishing myself on the field as one of the fiercest competitors in the game today... I have to re-establish myself and remind people of why I'm one of the best [pass] rushers."

Two teams in particular, the Atlanta Falcons and the Las Vegas Raiders , are still looking to add a productive veteran presence off the edge leading up to the start of the season and both general managers are known to be fond of aging stars. Also don't fully rule out a potential return to Chicago if Matt Eberflus wants him back.

Potential Suitors: Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears

    DE Rasheem Green

Rasheem Green doesn't quite carry the same level of production in his career that Ngakoue does, but he still could offer some strong value off the edge for a few teams. And, unlike Ngakoue, Green is still relatively young at 27 years old.

At 6'4, 279 pounds, Green has also great size and length at the position worth looking into if a team can get him back to his 2021 level, where he recorded 6.5 sacks with the Seattle Seahawks as a main starter off the edge.

Our own Charles Goldman linked Green to the Super Bowl Champs back in March during the height of free agency as a solid fit for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Green could also link back up with his former Seahawks defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr., who's currently the Commanders linebackers coach.

Potential Suitors: Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Commanders

    LB Dylan Cole

Following OTAs and minicamp, special teams coordinators around the league are finalizing which players they'll need on the 53-man roster to round out their units.

Dylan Cole is an experienced linebacker name still on the market who has played nearly 75 percent of special teams snaps over the last three seasons after playing in Chicago last season on a one-year deal.

Cole's best season of his career on defense came in 2022 with the Tennessee Titans under now New York Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen. He also has some prior history with new Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. If Cole lands on a roster prior to season, my money is on one of those two teams.
