CLARK, NJ — On the heels of TAPinto Clark's recent article about three Clark Soccer Club teams' exemplary performances at the Mid-New Jersey Youth Soccer Championships, we've got some additional great news to report.
Four other Clark Soccer Club teams, two boys teams and two girls teams, playing in the Suburban Youth Soccer League New Jersey (SYSL) over the weekend of June 15-16, had terrific finishes to their seasons as well, resulting in two 1st place finishes, one 2nd place finish, and one 3rd place finish.
SYSL is, according to its website , "a semi-recreational league . . . comprised of member clubs from the suburban New Jersey footprint of Union, Middlesex, Essex, and Somerset counties. The league offers high quality, flighted competition, ranging from the purely recreational athlete through more competitive players."
The results of the SYSL playoffs for the Clark teams were as follows:
U13B Cougars (Coached by Nuno Amado) finished 2nd place in the playoffs. The team had a great season but came up just short, losing to Edison Galaxy in the finals.
U13G Banshees (Coached by Frank Perez and Jordan Fedak) finished 1st place in the playoffs. This was back-to-back championships for the Banshees, who finished the season, 6-3. The team won the finals in overtime against the Cranford Strikers. Olivia Dilandro scored the winning goal with an assist from Erica Baglieri.
U15G Thunder (Coached by Kim Baglieri) finished 3rd in the playoffs by beating Springfield, 4-1. The team has the distinction of being the first girls team to play in SYSL for Clark, winning back-to-back championships in the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022.
U15B Clark City FC (Coached by Frank Perez and Jordan Fedak) finished 1st place in the playoffs. The team had an undefeated 9-0 season. The boys beat the Edison Timbers, 4-1, to take the title.
Congratulations to all the teams and families. The Clark Soccer Club continues to produce high-quality student athletes who exemplify the virtues of hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship!
