Last year, the Missouri Tigers were a surprise in college football. The Tigers were picked to finish No. 6 in the SEC East, but ended with a record of 11-2, finishing No. 2 in the division and tying for the third-best record in the conference.

This season, the Tigers have a lot of expectations to live up to. They are predicted to finish at No. 6 in the entire conference. ESPN's Paul Finebaum is optimistic about the Tigers' chances of having a successful season. He believes that by Oct. 26, 2024, they could be heading into their eighth game against the Alabama Crimson Tide with a 7-0 record. He also thinks that the game against Alabama is not getting enough attention as a potential loss for the Crimson Tide.

"I think that's one of the games on Alabama's schedule that almost no one is looking at that I think could be a loss," Finebaum said.

Finebaum mentioned that Missouri could be undefeated heading into that game. He said the Tigers have "very little" competition before taking on the Crimson Tide. Finebaum went as far as to say that the game will be one of the "sneaky" great games of the year. He doesn't expect Alabama to be undefeated heading into that game, but he believes the Tigers have an excellent chance.

After that game, Finebaum thinks the Missouri's two toughest games will be against the Auburn Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners, both of which are at home. So, it could be a College Football Playoff run for the Tigers if everything goes according to plan.
