Suddenly, the Ohio State Buckeyes are up to 21 verbal commitments in the class of 2021 after a big month of June.

Ohio State welcomed eight new commitments to the class and is well-positioned to have a big month of July as well.

To catch up on what the Buckeyes have done, let’s go through a quick rundown.

    RB Bo Jackson

Ohio State showed up big to start the month with a recruiting win over Michigan and Georgia for the in-state recruit. Jackson is a top-100 player in the country from Cleveland and was the first of two running backs that the Buckeyes would add in the month.

    S Faheem Delane

The Buckeyes had long been after Delane and he committed during his official visit early in the month. The No. 34 overall player in the country chose the Buckeyes over Oregon.

    WR Quincy Porter

Porter is a talented wideout who is the No. 8 player in the country at his position. Porter chose the Buckeyes over Michigan and Oklahoma. At the time, Porter was the second wideout commit in the class joining De’Zie Jones.

    RB Isaiah West

The Buckeyes haven’t been refuting West hard for long but when they began he decommited from Kentucky and was immediately connected to Ohio State. It was a point of emphasis to take multiple players in this class at running back and OSU is well on their way

    WR Bodpegn Miller

Miller was an unknown to most folks up until Brian Hartline fell in love with his potential at a camp in Columbus . At 6-foot-4, the high school quarterback ran a 4.44 hand time at the camp in the 40-yard dash and put on a show with his route running ability despite being a project. Iowa State, Boston College, Northwestern, and multiple Ivy League schools were interested in the athlete.

    OL Jake Cook

Cook is a player who is in an Ohio State backyard and attends school just outside of the city at Westerville North. Cook was committed to Louisville but decommited after the Buckeyes became heavily interested. Another piece to the offensive line and a player the that Ohio State can develop.

    TE Brody Lennon

Lennon is an in-state tight end that the Buckeyes offered on June 13 and had committed on June 21. Ohio State won him over Kentucky and Wisconsin.

    DT Trajen Odom

Odom was a nice recruiting win for Larry Johnson because the Buckeyes were up against Oregon and USC, two new Big Ten schools. Odom will be a 3-technique player for the Buckeyes on the interior of the defensive line.

Perhaps the visit for five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. was the biggest visit of the month for Ohio State. Tennessee and the Buckeyes are in a battle for the elite tackle prospect. It could be a career-defining moment for offensive line coach Justin Frye.

Other key recruits will be committing in July and the first commitment for the Buckeyes may be four-star defensive end Justin Hill. Either way, the Buckeyes are on a beater right now in the trail and have the No. 1 recruiting class as a result.
