    It's up to you: Choose the Spring Week 8 Delaware Online Athlete of the Week

    Help decide which performance was the best in Delaware high school sports last week. Vote for the Delaware Online High School Athlete of the Week, with the winner to be announced Friday. Voting is free. Here are this week’s nominees:

    Michael Baker, William Penn baseball: Sophomore pitched a three-hit shutout against top-ranked Sussex Tech, then did it again while striking out nine against St. Elizabeth.

    Morgan Echeverria, Brandywine girls lacrosse: Senior scored two goals against Conrad and three against Dover to finish her career with 214 goals.

    Lukas Newman, Appoquinimink boys lacrosse: Senior reached 100 career points with three goals and two assists in an 18-7 win over Middletown.

    Emily Trzonkowski, Delaware Military Academy softball: Junior pitcher went 3-0 with 24 strikeouts and hit .545, including key extra-inning hits in wins over Caesar Rodney and Indian River.

    Ethan Walther, Salesianum track and field: Junior set a state record of 4:08.91 in the 1,600 meters and won the 800 in 1:53.82 at the New Castle County championships.
