Broncos LB Reveals Plan To Ruin Russell Wilson's Steelers Game

Denver Broncos linebacker Jonas Griffith is already circling his team's Week 2 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the 2024 regular season schedule.

That's the game when the Broncos welcome Russell Wilson back to Mile High.

Griffith is looking forward to facing his former teammate and ruining his night with an interception.

“I’m really excited. I mean, obviously, for any game I get to play in,” Griffith said when appearing on Denver Sports 104.3 . “But you see that one, you’re excited to go out there and—beat the Steelers, first of all, it’s a great organization. I want to pick off Russ, for sure."

He continued, "I think that would be really cool, just to pick him off and get the victory, first and foremost."

There are likely no hard feelings on Griffith's end that things ended the way they did with Wilson.

It wasn't like he left Denver by choice. The Broncos failed to make the playoffs in back-to-back seasons and they chose to move in a different direction.

Wilson's numbers weren't terrible, but he also didn't do enough to get the team over the hump. He finished the season with 3,070 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 15 starts.

Griffith is likely speaking more from a competitive standpoint. The Broncos don't want the guy who just signed a one-year deal with the Steelers to return to Denver and shred them on their home field.

For 60 minutes of football, Griffith and the Broncos will do everything in their power to ensure Wilson has a bad night.

It's nothing personal.
