Peyton Manning named as one of ESPN's top 100 athletes since 2000

Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning continues to be a large part of the sports landscape since his retirement from the Denver Broncos in 2016.

From the ManningCast broadcast with his brother Eli to his own ESPN+ series Peyton’s Places and his constant involvement with the Broncos franchise, Manning remains a larger-than-life figure on and off the football field.

Last week, Manning was named as part of ESPN’s ranking of the top 100 athletes since 2000, coming in at No. 26. Manning’s time with the Indianapolis Colts was Hall of Fame-worthy on its own as he won a Super Bowl, was selected to 11 Pro Bowls, posted nine 4,000-yard passing seasons and earned five first-team All-Pro honors.

After his life- and career-changing neck injury in 2011, Manning was released by the Colts, and signed with Denver. During his time with the Broncos, Manning broke career and single-season NFL records in almost every statistical passing category. Manning led Denver to four AFC West titles, two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl title.

To many sports fans, Manning’s image is still almost an everyday occurrence across various networks and platforms.

There’s no doubt that Manning belongs on this list. The onely question for Broncos fans is, should Manning be ranked higher on the list?
