HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville man is facing charges after a police chase on Evansville’s west side.

Person in custody after vehicle chase ends in a crash

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office say Jeffrey Sullenger refused to pull over for a traffic stop, which led to the chase near Ray Becker Parkway.

Authorities say the chase ended when Sullenger eventually hit a tree at the corner of Barker Avenue and Austin Avenue.

Police say they found drug paraphernalia in Sullenger’s car. He also allegedly admitted to drinking prior to the chase.

Sullenger is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of cannabis, possession of paraphernalia, resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.

He is currently being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail.
