The SEC is not exempt from having head coaches with many expectations weighing on them in 2024. On3 Sports' Jesse Simonton ranked all the SEC head coaches in terms of pressure heading into the fall.

Many coaches in the SEC will be under pressure to perform well. If things do not go well for these coaches, they may not be at their program the following year.

According to Simonton, the SEC head coach with the most pressure on him for 2024 was Sam Pittman. Pittman has been the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks since 2020 and has a record of 23-25.

The Razorbacks did not reach a bowl in 2023 after a 4-8 finish. It was the second time in Pittman's tenure that Arkansas ended a season with a bowl appearance. Simonton believes that the head coach may be looking for another job if Pittman cannot reach a bowl again in 2024.

"Arkansas brought in former head coach Bobby Petrino to be Pittman’s newest OC—and potential replacement," Simonton said. "Unlike most on this list, Pittman is a real hot-seat candidate, and barring an unexpected bowl season [or better], he’s unlikely to be on the sidelines in 2025."

Pittman's best season at Arkansas so far was undoubtedly in 2021. Arkansas ended the year at 9-4 after winning the Outback Bowl.

Arkansas opens the 2024 campaign with the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Aug. 29. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
