    Thursday's local roundup: Bravehearts rally to walk-off Sea Unicorns

    Futures Collegiate League

    Bravehearts 7, Norwich 6: Dylan LaPointe tripled in Matt Milone to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, and Fitchburg State's Jacob Hurrell drove in pinch runner Tyler McCord with a line drive single to right one out later to give the Bravehearts (14-12) a walk-off win over the Sea Unicorns (16-11) to snap their three-game losing streak.

    The two-run rally in the ninth were the first two runs allowed by Norwich closer Jimmy Mulvaney in the Futures League in 12⅔ innings.

    Hurrell was 3 for 5 with a solo homer in the top of the fourth that sailed onto the football field at Fitton Field. while LaPointe was 3 for 5 with a double, triple and three RBIs and Joey Rubin and Milone each had two hits.

    American Legion

    Hudson 12, East Side 2: Michael Atwater allowed one hit, two runs and struck out five as Post 100 (8-2) downed visiting Post 201 (1-6).

    Hudson's Matthew Gogan drove in three runs and Marshal Kehlhem collected two RBIs and three runs.

    Leominster 2, Main South 1: Justin Mariani and Ryan Marchand delivered sacrifice flies on consecutive at bats in the bottom of the fourth as Post 151 (8-1) rallied for the win at McLaughlin Field. Trevor Robichaud stuck out nine in 5⅓ innings and Tyler Godin closed it out it out by striking out five and allowing no hits in the final 2⅔ innings.

    Ryan Flanigan was 2 for 4 with a run for Post 341 (2-6).

    Northbridge 8, Cherry Valley 2: Luke Charron struck out seven and allowed four hits in a complete game win for Post 343 (3-7) over Post 443 (0-8) at Northbridge Middle School. Northbridge's Antonio D'Alfonso was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run, while Jacob Costello and Matthew Coughlin each scored twice.

    Paul N. Johnson Senior Ruth

    Douglas 7, Shrewsbury 0: Josh Farrell went 3 for 3 with two runs and pitched a complete game shutout, allowing one hit while striking out two as Douglas blanked visiting Shrewsbury at Solider Field.

    Teammate Peter Lavache was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run, while Gavin Metcalf went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and a run.

    Tatnuck 2, Sturbridge 1: Vinny Latorre scored on a ground ball in the bottom of the third and Seamus Clancey singled in Joey Fritze in the fourth to propel Tatnuck at Worcester State.

    Tatnuck's Nigel Cross fanned 11 in six innings.

    Jay Eagan drove in Joe Amaru with a sacrifice fly in the seventh for Sturbridge.

    Millbury 14, Vernon Hill 2: Cole Guilford went 2 for 3 with four RBIs and two runs, while Matt Ramsdell was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs as Millbury rolled at Tivnan Field. Teammates Jackson Kehowski, Jimmer Donnelly and Alex Havalotti all scored twice.

    Junior Ovalle was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Vernon Hill.
