    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

“We certainly appreciate everyone’s efforts in trying to keep our system up and running smoothly, but we have come to the point that it is not sustainable for everyone’s health and safety,” Carroll County Schools Superintendent Casey Jaynes said.

Due to scheduling restraints athletic events already scheduled during the illness break will continue as planned and student-athletes will have limited access to inside areas like the locker rooms and gym.

“Please take this opportunity over this long weekend to get well and rested,” Jaynes said.

Carroll County Schools did not say what illnesses have impacted students and staff, but on Aug. 21 Three Rivers District Health Department which serves Carroll County said its service area is being impacted by the rise in COVID-19 cases being seen across Kentucky.
