Kidnapping suspect escapes, child found unharmed in woods near Irmo
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have released additional details regarding a significant law enforcement presence in the Irmo area on Thursday afternoon. An incident report provided by the Richland County Sheriff's Department said that multiple agencies were in the area searching for a kidnapping suspect after an off-duty South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper called dispatch to report a man run into the woods with a child in the 1000 block of Farming Creek Road.
Fire fizzles out at Lexington pizza restaurant, no injuries reported
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WACH) — An early morning fire at a pizza restaurant in Lexington caused very little damage to the building. Crews with the Lexington County Fire Service, Lexington County EMS and the Town of Lexington Police Department responded to a fire at “Ferraras Pizza and Pasta” located at 109 Old Chapin Road in the Town of Lexington just before 7 a.m.
Richland County house fire causes significant damage, firefighters treated on scene
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Two firefighters had to be checked out but are OK after an intense house fire in Richland County on Sunday night. According to the Columbia-Richland Fire Department, crews responded to the 400 block of Oak Manner Drive off Clemson Road just before 9 p.m. The first on the scene saw smoke already showing from the home. The fire eventually spread into the attic before breaking through the roof.
