COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Columbia-Richland Fire Department is hosting a free movie night to benefit teens who are living with sickle cell anemia. On July 24 at 7 p.m. at Spotlight Cinemas near the old Columbia Mall, bring your friends and family to watch Sidney Poitier’s “A Warm December” movie that chronicles the love story of a person living with sickle cell anemia.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Columbia and West Columbia are partnering to build a new pedestrian bridge across the Saluda River. The $8.5 million project is said to be mutually beneficial for both cities. Columbia Assistant City Manager Clint Shealy told WIS the city’s original concept was to address sanitary overflow by the Riverbank Zoo with a sanitary pump under the Saluda River.
