    Gastonia man found in Lincoln County home wearing resident’s clothes and shoes: Sheriff

    LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Gastonia man has been charged after breaking into someone’s home and wearing the victim’s clothes, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

    On Monday, July 15, a resident of North Ingleside Farm Road returned home to find a man in his kitchen wearing their clothes and shoes. Authorities were called and arrested 46-year-old Tanou Chittamath.

    Detectives found two bags outside the scene with items from inside the residence and a bike was found outside a building on the property, officials said. Detectives also found evidence that the suspect had also broken into a nearby residence near the 6900 block of Golden Eagle Trail.

    Chittamath was charged with:

    • 2 felony counts of breaking and entering
    • Felony larceny after breaking and entering
    • Felony possession of stolen goods.

    Officials say he received a $1,000 secured bond for the break-in on Golden Eagle Trail, and a no-bond hold pending a court appearance for the break-in on N. Ingleside Farm Road.
