Target rich: Louisiana 4-H shooting sports wins second consecutive national championship

The team has placed first in four out of the past five national competitions, including 2019, 2021 and 2023, with a second-place finish in 2022 and the 2020 event being canceled due to COVID restrictions.
Sodbusters sweep Plainsmen in first games without Schipper
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - In the program’s first game without head coach Joel Schipper, who is leaving Hastings to take over at NCAA DIII Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Hastings Sodbusters beat Plainsmen Baseball 7-1. This was the first of a Tuesday doubleheader, since Monday’s game was postponed due to weather. That was scheduled to be Schipper’s last in the Sodbusters’ dugout, but he left for Michigan on Tuesday before the team’s 6 p.m. first pitch.

HASTINGS, Neb. – The Hastings Sodbusters are facing adversity, but continue to play on despite losing their Head Coach midway through the summer baseball season. On Friday, the team learned that Head Coach Joel Schipper was leaving Hastings to take the Baseball Head Coach job at Calvin University in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
GI Home Federal Host Pius X Wednesday
(Grand Island, NE) - The Grand Island Home Federal baseball team will return home Wednesday, July 3rd hosting Pius X Union Bank & Trust for a doubleheader starting at Noon. Game two (On KRGI 1430/105.5 & krgi.com) will follow at approximately 2:30 pm. GI is coming into the matchup with a 23-8 record after going 3-2 at the Mike Peterson Tournament in Lincoln this past weekend. Home Federal matchup with Pius X on Friday winning by a final score of 11-2. GI had a big top of the 5th inning in that game opening up the scoring with six runs and adding three more runs in the 7th inning for the victory. The loss for Pius X snapped a 16-game winning streak. Pius X will come into today's matchup with a 28-8 record.
