New Mayor Appointed, New Council Member Needed
The City of Gothenburg has a new mayor. At the July 16 council meeting, Mayor Will Rahjes submitted his resignation – but not because he no longer wants to serve. Quite the opposite in fact. Rahjes was forced to step down from his mayoral position due to a city ordinance that requires the mayor – as well as all elected officials and most appointed positions – to reside within the city limits.
