Giltner man sentenced after dog found frozen to death
AURORA, Neb. (KSNB) - A Giltner man will spend some time in jail after one of his dogs was found frozen to death in January. According to Hamilton County District Court documents, 60-year-old Kevin Jemison was sentenced on Wednesday to a term of 30 days at the Hamilton County Jail and then two years of probation.
Hot and dry weather to end the month of July and will continue right into early August
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - There are no major changes to the forecast in the days ahead. We continue to see plenty of smoky haze ahead of us today. Along with the smoke, there is some dense fog over northeast portions of the Local4 viewing area. It’ll be another hot day as temperatures rise a bit more from yesterday. Highs will be up into the 90s. Triple digit heat is expected over Western and Northwestern Nebraska. South winds will be slightly stronger than recent days at 5 to 15 mph. Winds will be breezier across the area Friday through Sunday. Tomorrow will be slightly cooler, but highs will still be in the 90s. Saturday will be similar in the upper 80s and low to mid 90s. Temperatures start to come back up Sunday as highs get back into the 90s all across the area. Temperatures look similar on Monday. Hotter conditions will then come in to end the month of July with highs on Tuesday in the mid to upper 90s and lower 100s. Wednesday may be the hottest day in the mid 90s to mid 100s. Temperatures will come down slight into the first few days of August, but will still remain hot in the 90s and at times near 100.
