REI Co-op, HOTWORX, The Spot highlight north Glendale openings

The following businesses have opened recently in northern Glendale:

On May 22, HOTWORX Arrowhead opened at 20249 N 67th Ave., Suite A-2, Glendale. HOTWORX offers members unlimited, 24-hour access to a variety of virtually instructed, infrared sauna workouts. Members can achieve their fitness goals with 3D Training — a combination of heat, infrared energy, and exercise. Isometrics, Pilates, yoga, barre, cycle and resistance band workouts are among the classes offered.

REI Co-op officially opened its new 23,400 square-foot Glendale store on June 21 at 6040 W. Behrend Drive in the Arrowhead Promenade. The outdoor retailer marked the occasion with a three-day celebration filled with outdoor brands and nonprofit partners. The store is packed with outdoor gear and apparel for camping, hiking, cycling, running, fitness, and paddling, as well as a specialty bike shop.

Some time in January, Sushi Island opened at 6334 W. Bell Road, in Bell Tower Plaza. This Japanese eatery offers some menu variety with teriyaki and noodle dishes. But the restaurant’s main feature.

May 24 was the soft opening of The Spot Neighborhood Grill at 5350 W. Bell Road, Suite 123 in Glendale. It is the bart and grill’s second location, after the success of the original at 18251 N Pima Road, Scottsdale.

Fuerza Brazilian Jiu Jitsu recently moves into ists first permanent store space at 6740 W. Deer Valley Road, Suite D108 in Glendale.This martial arts school is led by professor Mario Gaxiola, a second-degree black belt. Gaxiola is an IBJJF certified black belt and is Safe Sport certified. Ages 4 and up are welcome to learn the fighting style.
