The Las Vegas area is enjoying pleasant conditions with light winds and near-normal temperatures through midweek, but a weather shift is on the horizon. A weak weather system off the Southern California coast is expected to bring a modest increase in moisture to the region starting Thursday, leading to the return of isolated thunderstorms in higher terrains.

Currently, skies remain clear across northwest Arizona, eastern California, and southern Nevada, with only a few clouds forecasted to move into northwest Arizona by Wednesday. However, as the week progresses, a low-pressure system may introduce sufficient moisture to spark thunderstorms, particularly in areas like Mt. Charleston and the high terrain of Mohave County. With a 30 to 40 percent chance of precipitation in these areas, residents and visitors should be prepared for potential showers and storms through the weekend.

The weather pattern will continue to be monitored closely as the extent of moisture and storm activity becomes clearer.
