GRAND RAPIDS— Grand Rapids Speedway held another great day of racing on Thursday. This race there were no WISSOTA Modifieds, but were WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Hornets, Pure Stocks, Late Models, Supers and Northern Renegade Sprint Cars. At intermission there were kids power wheel races which were also very competitive. Mavrik Wohlers, Kyah Krzoska, Colt Broking and Kane Massingill all had a great time and made it to victory lane in their power wheels getting an early start to their future racing career! Cobie School and Vetta Perrin also were big winners after they were chosen to take home a bike.

The Northern Renegade Sprint cars were out on the track first. John Vaillancourt quickly stole the lead, while Paul Schultz raced quickly to second. Chris Lewis challenged low on the back of the track for second and wasted no time to steal it. Zach Olson, K.C. Hawkinson, Schultz and Ken Hron all bunched together to race out for position. A few cautions halted the race when a couple drivers spun out. Ken Hron was then out front of the pack and Chris Lewis snuck up and looked to challenge Hron but Hron did not give it up. Hawkinson secured third, while Olson kept close in fourth. Schultz was then able to round off the top five for the evening.

18 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds then rolled onto the track with Blake Adams and Michael Blevins out of the poll positions. Adams stole the lead right away and Blevins raced in behind him. Don Smith then raced to third and kept close to Blevins. A caution then halted the race due to some spun drivers. The drivers got lined up and going again and Adams kept out in the lead, Blevins looked close on Adams but Adams did not give it up. Don Smith kept in his third position. Mikey Blevins made a quick move to secure fourth but Kaden Woodie looked high and low on him. David Simpson also neared Woodie and Blevins, but Blevins was able to secure the position from the two by the checkered flags.

Doug Koski and Kevin Salin led the WISSOTA Super Stocks out onto the track for their feature for the evening. The drivers got going and quickly a caution flag came out when a driver spun in corner four. Koski kept out front while Curt Myers and Maxwell Dondelinger battled for second. Cole Chernosky looked low on Dondelinger and inched up and around. Myers inched up on Koski and looked to challenge, he quickly challenged and moved around to secure the lead. Koski now raced in second, Chernosky raced in third, Dustin Nelson then raced to fourth and Dondelinger secured fifth. Chernosky looked to stick his nose in on Koski to steal second and after a couple laps he was successful. Myers secured the win, Chernosky, Nelson, Koski, and Dondelinger rounded off the top five for the evening.

The WISSOTA Late Models then rolled onto the track and had a quick and fast racing feature. Mark Heinle and Ben Heinle were out on the poll positions, but on green Johnny Broking wasted no time to steal the lead and secure it. Heinle raced in second but Shane Sabraski was moving his way up and challenged him and stole second when Heinle got too high on the track. Sabraski then went on to catch Broking as they both pulled away from the rest of the pack. B. Heinle then secured third, while Jeff Provinzino, Harry Hanson and Jeff Massingill raced out for positioning, challenging one another. They went back and forth with each other until the checkered flags. Broking stole a win, Sabraski, Heinle, Provinzino, and Hanson ended up with a top five win for the evening.

Karen Pushinsky and Brandon Pushinsky led the WISSOTA Pure Stocks out on the track B. Pushinsky stole the initial lead on green, but Austin Carlson snuck low and stole the lead after a short couple laps. Jake Smith was following and showed his nose to B. Pushinsky while Chaston Finckbone joined in to challenge also. Finckbone, Pushinsky, Smith and Barsness all bunched up for positioning. Finckbone quickly raced around and was able to steal the lead, while Carlson, Barsness, and Smith all drove around Pushinsky. Barsness and Carlson raced to the checkered battling, but Barsness was able to secure second, Carlson secured third. Smith then kept Pushinsky behind and secured fourth.

A field of 19 WISSOTA Hornets then drove onto the track for their feature of the evening Cade Johnson and Easton Pfeiffer were out on the poll positions. The racers had a rough start with a couple caution flags being thrown right away. Johnson kept out front with Riley Ament and Pason Patrin battling for second until another caution flag was thrown. The drivers then had to have a single file line up due to recurring caution flags. Johnson, Ament, Patrin, McKenna Folsetad, and Tristen McLynn lined up in top five positions. Patrin then battled outside of Ament for second while McLynn battled low on Folstead. Patrin then made a quick move around Johnson and stole the lead while McLynn then followed behind into second. Folstead quickly moved around Johnson as well, as Johsnon secured fourth when Ament raced in fifth. Patrin took the win for the evening, McLynn, Folstead, Johnson and Ament took top five wins for the evening.
