Oakland students invited to a free summer camp at SLAC

Incoming fifth and sixth grade students from Ile Omode School in Oakland got to experience a free science summer camp at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park for a week. Throughout the CORE Science Institute summer camp, students worked on multiple projects focused on energy, physics and engineering in a national facility.

MCSO: Bay Area marijuana thieves reportedly pummeled in Covelo
Two Bay Area men were seriously injured Monday while reportedly trying to steal marijuana from a property in Covelo, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the MCSO, deputies responded to the 24000 block of Shady Lane when residents there reported around 3:15 p.m. July 22 that they had “interrupted multiple subjects stealing marijuana, who subsequently fled the location in a red pickup and a U-Haul box truck.”

BEV sales peaked at 102,730 in the second quarter of 2023, bottoming out at 89,503 in the fourth quarter of 2023, before recovering to 101,443 in the second quarter of 2024.
