The westbound lanes of Interstate 40 closed Saturday afternoon due to a vehicle on fire in Holbrook, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

At around 10:30 a.m., ADOT reported the vehicle fire on the westbound I-40 lanes near Navajo Boulevard.

Around 1 p.m., the left lane of the westbound I-40 was reopened.

The vehicle fire was seen throwing large clouds of black smoke in the air on an ADOT traffic camera.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirmed the closure was a result of a semi-truck trailer that caught fire.

There was currently no estimated time for reopening the westbound lanes, according to ADOT.

This is a developing story, check back for more details.
