Fayetteville Counselor Pleads Guilty to Fraud
Valerie Ann Sinclair of Fayetteville has pleaded guilty to 21 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses in Moore County Superior Court. Judge Regina M. Joe ordered Sinclair to surrender her clinical mental health counselor supervisor license and pay $71,046.04 in restitution to the North Carolina Medicaid program. She also sentenced Sinclair to 60 months of supervised probation and required Sinclair to immediately serve 90 days of confinement.

Durham man charged with murder in 2023 deadly shooting that killed one person
Durham police have charged a man with murder in the 2023 shooting of a man on Wabash Street.Investigators have arrested and charged 25-year-old Tyshawn Franks of Durham in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Jeremiah Williams who is also from Durham.At 6:45 p.m. on November 15, 2023, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert on Wabash Street. When officers arrived, they found Williams had been shot near the intersection of Wabash Street and Dayton Street.EMS responded and Williams was transported to a local hospital where he later died.Franks was taken into custody on Monday.Anyone with any information about this shooting is asked to call Investigator A. NC human trafficking arrest leads to fears of trafficking in other states
ROXBORO, NC (WDBJ) - Police in North Carolina are concerned about human trafficking in surrounding states after the arrest of a New York man. Alfredo Davis, 39, was arrested August 10 in Roxboro for trafficking. Investigators in Roxboro say their investigation began with a 911 call about a suspicious person near a bank. Police were given a vehicle and driver description, and they pulled the driver, Davis, over. Investigators then recovered nearly 40 alleged fraudulent identification cards, with different names, addresses and dates of birth, all containing the photograph of a 65-year old woman who was the passenger in the vehicle. Police seized several thousands of dollars in cash, personal checks alleged to be fraudulent or stolen, and marijuana.
