Antonietta was born and raised on a farm in Italy, moving to the U.S. at age 11. TAPinto spoke with Antonietta, who commented, " We grew and raised everything that we needed. We grew grapes from which my dad made wine, wheat, olives, vegetables, fruits, chickens, rabbits, goats to name a few. We always ate fresh, from the homemade pasta that my mom, with the help of my 2 sisters and I made, to fresh pressed olive oil on homemade bread. We canned all the tomatoes that we grew to last us until the next harvest. We slaughtered the family pig and preserved it in the form of sausage, prosciutto, capicollo etc. From very early on, I was surrounded by amazing cooks, my grandmothers, my mom, my aunts and all the amazing women in town.

Whether you sign up solo or bring a friend, you will feel welcome and comfortable joining the cooking class and sharing a meal together with everyone. As part of the great Holmdel Recreation Department, REGISTER HERE.
